For me, the importance of protecting my skin is so much higher now than it was 10 years ago. I never really used to give a hoot. Burnt face? Oh it's hilarious ha ha who cares. Burnt nose? Even funnier, let's all laugh at it and then probably do it again the next day. But, the point at which I started caring about my skin just kind of appeared out of nowhere, it's like someone crept up on me from behind and handed me a little note which said 'look after your skin, now'. So, this is exactly what I am trying to do - every day!
It's those little-and-often efforts that I think have the most effective results when it comes to skincare and things that you wouldn't normally think of have quite an impact on the condition and health of our skin. We all know how damaging the sun can be if we don't take the proper precautions to protect ourselves against it, but what about all the other things like environmental pollutants like smoke, fumes and UV rays and wind? All of these can play a part in affecting our skin in a negative way. Even the blue light exposure of our phones can affect our skin, promoting stressors in skin that cause ageing...damn it.
My skin is particularly reactive and by using the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Defense with SPF30+ at the very least I know am making sure I am protecting my skin as best I can from outside influences - every day - and I'm very happy with the results.
Why do I love this?
My face has reactive tendencies and is quite prone to redness and blushing and somehow (I say somehow because I don't understand how it does this) this gives my skin a little boost by, what I am assuming is bringing blood to the surface, and then it immediately calms it right down.
The finished result is a lovely cool, calm face with even coverage plus no greasiness or stickiness but is still well moisturised - it's like a little dose of magic.
